Fashionista = Snob?

Hello Lovees!! It's a beautiful Sunny day here where I live! I have nothing but cleaning on the schedule for today! Dislike, but it is necessary!

So today, I want to talk about being judged, by the clothing you wear, the bag you carry, the shoes on your feet, your hairstyle, your nails, your ring(s) on your finger(s), the car you drive, etc... It's happened to me on more than a number of occasions. How about you? Sometimes, you can tell just by the stares. Other times, it's the way people treat you. And sometimes, folks will just comment, often foolish things. It can be downright hurtful!

I, like many of you, LOVE fashion! I love to put together pieces that make me feel confident and beautiful! However, I do NOT, EVER, look down upon, or judge anyone else for not wearing something as fancy as I may wear. So, why then, do they judge me? No, I do not think I am the next housewife of anywhere! No, I do not have more money than God just to spend on fashion. No, I do not think I am better than anyone else. No, I am not looking for attention or approval. I dress for me. I dress in what I want to feel...beautiful! Nothing more, nothing less.

As a child, my mother taught me the "rules" of fashion. Lol!  Match my handbag with my shoes. No white after labor day. And many others. She has always said that she is often overdressed no matter where she goes. I too feel that same way at times. Still tho, I am thankful my mother taught me the principles of dressing well.

I like to look put together! I love makeup and lashes and will find any excuse to wear them wherever I can! (I am an esthetician for goodness sake!) I love high heels as well as flats. I love costume jewelry as well as my Pandora bracelets. I love my Michael Kors bags as much as my off brand clutches. My Sperry shoes as much as my no names. All of this does not equal snob.

Let's stop judging one another and just start loving each other! Uplift each other! The older I get, the more I realize the importance of encouragement! Especially among women! So go out there today and be you! Be the most amazing version of you that you can be! Whether your outfit today came from the local Goodwill store or Saks Fifth Ave, wear it proud and with confidence! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!

love...

Connie
