Happy New Year my fellow fashionistas! I hope this post finds you well! It's a new year, and that brings us a fresh slate to start anew. I have ignored my blog for so very long, mostly because of feeling inadequate, but also in part because of laziness. Both things I wish to change in this new year!
I started a major clean up of my bedroom today...WOWZERS!!!! First, I realized I'm a tad messy. Ok, ok, maybe this wasn't a new revelation...lol!! BUT, I also realized something else...I have issues, with shopping!!! That in and of itself isn't a bad thing, but I feel it necessary for me to dig a little deeper. What is the reason for my shopping addiction? Is it purely for the fashion, or is there more to it? Sadly, I believe my addiction is about far more than the fashion finds. Have you ever seen the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic? There's a part in the movie where she is in rehab, for shopping, and describes the feeling she gets when shopping...
LOL! Such a cute, funny movie! But, even Rebecca Bloomwood had to do some soul searching. In the end she sold her goods and found true love!
How many of you can relate as well? Do you ever look at a fellow blogger's post and think...oooooohhhhh I NEED that? Or how about Pinterest? Ever go on there, pin an outfit, then become obsessed with finding those pieces? It is so easy to do!
I have read a few blogs the past few days that have said they were doing no shop January! At first I thot... YIKES, how can one do that! Well, after sorting thru clothes that need put away and realizing I had not 1 but three faux fur vests(just that need put away, there are a few more already in the closet), 2 quilted vests(yep, also more in the closet) approximately 10 hats(yep, you guessed it...), and scarves a plenty...perhaps I too could benefit from a no shop January!! I do need to buy a planner to get organized for the year, but I am going to do my very best to not shop for fashion this month! Instead, I will try to focus on my blog, my businesses, my career, my schooling, my health, my spirituality, my daughter's upcoming wedding, some reading, my cooking, my finances(which will certainly appreciate me not shopping!) and of course, my family!!
Wishing you all the best this new year!
love and hugs...
Connie
